Africa-Press – Mozambique. An unidentified ship is immobilized in the Indian Ocean more than three miles off Xai-Xai beach in Gaza province, Rádio Moçambique reports today.

Authorities at the National Maritime Institute (INAMAR) in Gaza told Radio Mozambique that they are concerned.

INAMAR has no information about the ship, first sighted on Tuesday of this week, the institution’s Pelágio Duvane said.

“We contacted the naval radio station and reported the presence of this ship. This is strange because we, as INTRASMAR, have no information. The naval radio station requested some information, and we provided the information we obtained from the ship itself. They conducted a search there, spotted the ship, but were unable to contact it, allegedly because the coverage of their instruments did not reach the location,” he said.

At the time of writing this Friday (18-07), the arrival of a Mozambican Navy team was awaited for further investigation.
