Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Movement across Mozambique\u2019s borders between 27 November and 3 December, associated with the approaching Christmas and New Year season, grew 40% compared to 2020, the National Migration Service has announced.<\/p>\n

A statement by SENAMI cited by the Mozambique Information Agency (AIM) reveals that \u201c44,958 travellers of various nationalities crossed national border crossing points\u201d with 22,671 entries and 22,287 exits, \u201ccompared to 32,304 travellers in the same period in 2020\u201d.<\/p>\n

The numbers reflect a pattern of movement of Mozambican emigrants during this time of year, as well as a resumption of movement after the first year of restrictions related to the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

The authority that controls the Mozambican borders announced more service capacity, with \u201cmore service desks, reinforcement of staff and material resources\u201d.<\/p>\n

Opening hours are also expected to be extended at the Ressano Garcia and Ponta do Ouro crossings, the busiest on the Mozambique-South Africa border, and also at the Machipanda post, on the border with Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n
