{"id":10681,"date":"2021-12-13T17:53:51","date_gmt":"2021-12-13T17:53:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/?p=10681"},"modified":"2021-12-13T15:39:17","modified_gmt":"2021-12-13T15:39:17","slug":"mozambique-inflation-of-0-99-per-cent-in-november-aim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/mozambique-inflation-of-0-99-per-cent-in-november-aim","title":{"rendered":"Inflation of 0.99 per cent in November \u2013 AIM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Inflation in Mozambique in November was 0.99 percent, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE), drawing on the consumer price indices for the three largest cities (Maputo, Nampula and Beira).<\/p>\n<p>The November inflation was largely due to the increase in the price of liquid fuels \u2013 6.5 per cent for petrol and 4.6 per cent for diesel.<\/p>\n<p>Other significant average price rises in the month were for coconuts (14.6 per cent), materials for housing maintenance and repairs (10.5 per cent), second hand vehicles (2.7 per cent) and restaurant meals (0.7 per cent).<\/p>\n<p>But the prices of several other goods fell over the month, notably potatoes (down by 10.2 per cent), and washing powder (2.5 per cent).<\/p>\n<p>Inflation for the first 11 months of the year was 5.17 per cent. The main items contributing to the price rises were the divisions of food and non-alcoholic drinks and transport (notably the fuel prices).<\/p>\n<p>Annual inflation (1 December 2020 to 30 November 2021) was 6.77 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The three cities did not all have the same inflation rate in November.
