Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Communication between the district headquarters of M\u00e1go\u00e8 and the administrative posts of Mukumbura and Chintopo in Tete province have been interrupted since Sunday by the collapse of a bridge over the Caireze river on the Mphende-Mukumbura stretch of the road.<\/p>\n

The bridge collapsed as a result of the torrential rain registered in this part of the country, leaving more than 65,000 inhabitants isolated, according to Administrator of M\u00e1go\u00e8 District, Tito Sitoe.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the river tributaries were already full, so surplus capacity was low, and the water overflowed and cut the causeway we had placed that connects the bridge. So, a breach opened up that you can\u2019t even walk around, not even on a bicycle or a motorbike, and we are having difficulty seeing any solution right now,\u201d Sitoe said.<\/p>\n

Em Tete, est\u00e1 interrompida, desde ontem, a comunica\u00e7\u00e3o rodovi\u00e1ria entre a sede distrital de M\u00e1go\u00e8 e os postos administrativos de Mucumbura e Chinthopo, devido ao desabamento da ponte sobre o rio Caireze, no tro\u00e7o Mphende-Mucumbura.<\/b><\/p>\n

O desabamento da ponte resultou das chuvas torrenciais que se registam neste ponto do pa\u00eds, deixando mais de 65 mil habitantes isolados, segundo o Administrador do distrito de M\u00e1go\u00e8, Tito Sitoe.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cEncheram-se todos esses afluentes, ent\u00e3o a capacidade de encaixe foi fraca acabando a \u00e1gua por galgar a estrada e por conseguinte fazer corte na parte da terra batida que t\u00ednhamos colocado que liga a ponteca. Assim, abriu-se aquele lugar que nem d\u00e1 para transitar, nem de bicicleta nem de motorizada e estamos numa situa\u00e7\u00e3o dif\u00edcil de dar solu\u00e7\u00e3o neste preciso momento\u201d, disse.<\/b><\/p>\n
