Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, defended mutually beneficial cooperation between Europe and Africa in Brussels on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Filipe Nyusi was speaking in Brussels at a panel discussion organised by the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East (ECAM Council) under the theme \u201cAfrican Leaders for Change\u201d, within the scope of the EU-Africa Summit.<\/p>\n

President Nyusi said that future developments on the two continents, including in the economic sphere, would be closely linked. \u201cTherefore, working together in an equitable partnership is in the interests of both sides, exchanging valuable opportunities but also challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among several challenges, he pointed to the need to move from rhetoric to action, that is, to begin to see concrete results from what was agreed at the end of each summit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe partnership presupposes that we treat each other as equals, showing mutual respect, even if we do not agree on the way to approach matters,\u201d the Mozambican head of state said. \u201cWe are pleased to note the interest that European countries have in cooperating with Africans, thereby recognising that the African continent is no longer something people talk about, but who they talk to.\u201d<\/p>\n
