Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Linhas A\u00e9reas de Mo\u00e7ambique, S.A. (LAM \u2013 Mozambique Airlines) has for the eighth consecutive time obtained the renewal of its IOSA-IATA Operational Safety Audit certificate, which is now valid until 26 October 2023.<\/p>\n

The audit took place from 5 to 9 July, 2021, and was carried out by five international experts accredited by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).<\/p>\n

The aforementioned audit assessed the compliance with 926 IOSA requirements, distributed across eight areas, namely: Corporate Organisation and Management Systems (ORG); Flight Operations (FLT), Operational Control \u2013 Flight Dispatch (DSP), Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance (MNT), Cabin Operations (CAB), Ground Handling (GRH), Cargo Operations (CGO) and Operational Security (SEC).<\/p>\n

The renewal of the certificate is recognition of the commitment of the team of dedicated professionals at LAM in complying with the standards established by the aviation industry, whose objectives are aimed at operational safety.<\/p>\n

The Civil Aviation Institute of Mozambique (IACM), the national regulatory authority, plays a crucial role in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the operational standards of the company and its service providers.<\/p>\n

LAM was certified for the first time in 2007, having been successively recertified in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021.<\/p>\n

IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program is a global safety audit program which is internationally recognised and accepted to evaluate operational management and control systems of an airline.<\/p>\n

The IOSA certification audit is an internationally recognised and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognised audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardised and consistent manner. Airlines are re-evaluated every two years.<\/p>\n

Registering for IOSA certification and auditing is not mandatory, so an airline that does not have IOSA certification may have either failed the IOSA audit or alternatively chosen not to participate.<\/p>\n
