Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambican artists and activists N\u00e1lia Agostinho and Ta\u00edla Carrilho inaugurate on Saturday the exhibition \u201cSynergy of Emotions\u201d, at Espa\u00e7o Espelho D\u2019\u00c1gua, in Lisbon, with women as an omnipresent theme in the works, exhibited for the first time in Portugal.<\/p>\n

The exhibition brings together for the first time these artists, who live in Maputo, and in their work there will be themes such as \u201cgender issues, discrimination, inclusion and social exclusion of women in Mozambique and in the African continent\u201d.<\/p>\n

The artists\u2019 creative interest also includes themes related to \u201cisolation and emotion affected by the issues of the current crisis\u201d.<\/p>\n

Twenty pieces will be on show until 30 March, including a series of paintings, drawings and illustrations using acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal and oil paint, China ink and water colours on canvas and paper.<\/p>\n

The artists \u201cuse literature in moments of pause to complement their creative process, resorting, in this case, to poetry and prose\u201d.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is the result of \u201ca great internal dive for fundamental self-analysis, which proves the need to learn to deal with changes, losses and cycles\u201d, indicates the gallery that hosts it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough their African heritage, Ta\u00edla and N\u00e1lia perceive death as one of life\u2019s few certainties. According to their beliefs, death does not mean an end point, but a change of state, leaving aside the physical body to make way for another way of being in space. And this applies in both a literal and figurative sense. There is no end, there is a transformation,\u201d the briefing continues.<\/p>\n
