Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A delegation of entrepreneurs from the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce (CCM), led by CCM president \u00c1lvaro Massingue, participated from Thursday 25 February until Sunday 27 in the 2022 Pakistan Engineering and Healthcare Show at the Lahore Expo Centre in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is endorsed by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and showcases 21 categories of engineering and health sector products from around 46 countries in Central Asia and Africa, including Mozambique.<\/p>\n

The show aims to connect exporters and foreign buyers and develop strategies for their entry into less-explored markets with high potential, such as Mozambique.<\/p>\n

Joining the delegation were companies from the central region of Mozambique, represented by AMA Equipamentos, which is dedicated to the supply of hospital material and furniture; from the northern region, represented by Math\u00e1ria Empreendimentos, which operates in the field of processing national products such as sweet potato and moringa; and, from the southern region, Somofer, a company linked to the engineering and construction sector.<\/p>\n

CCM president \u00c1lvaro Massingue described the fare as an opportunity for members and representatives of local SMEs to showcase their products in highlighted markets, seek opportunities and new strategies for technology transfer in agro-processing, and forge \u2018win-win\u2019 connections for Mozambique.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a privilege for our Chamber of Commerce to be here in Lahore. Our members need these opportunities to stay motivated. Pakistan\u2019s unconditional support shows that we have great potential to grow in the fields of healthcare and engineering. We also have other interests, regarding the acquisition of machinery for different sectors, such as agriculture,\u201d said Massingue.<\/p>\n

Engineering & Healthcare Show 2022 concludes<\/p>\n

Business deals of worth around USD 52 Million were finalized during the 1st edition of Engineering and Healthcare Show 2022 concluded on Sunday at the Lahore Expo Centre, Pakistan Business Recorder reports.<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan over all nine Memorandum of Understanding were signed in the Pharmaceutical sector. It is expected that business of around USD 150 million will be generated, adds the same source.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson also said, cited by Business Recorder, that EHCS is a flagship sector-specific trade event of TDAP. In the 1st edition of EHCS, 325 foreign delegates from 27 countries from Africa and 05 countries from CAR\u2019s Region visited the exhibits of 170 exhibitors participating in EHCS to get first-hand experience of the whole range of engineering and healthcare products being offered by Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Officials of Drug Regularity Authority of Pakistan were present during the show and discussed areas of mutual cooperation with their regulatory counterparts from Senegal, Tajikistan, Sudan, Tanzania, Nigeria & Rwanda.<\/p>\n

FPCCI (Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry), LCCI (Lahore Chambers of Commerce & Industry), SCCI (Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry) and GCCI (Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry) also participated in the event and held extensive negotiations with their counterparts Chambers\/Association from Azerbaijan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Tajikistan, Senegal, Mauritius, Nigeria, Togo and Tanzania.<\/p>\n

During the exhibition, Arif Ahmed Khan, Chief Executive TDAP and Ahsan Ali Mangi, Secretary TDAP held discussions with their counterpart Trade Promotion Organizations from Benin, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal. Areas of interest pertaining to improved collaboration and mutual interests were discussed and how this exhibition can provide a platform for mutual benefits.<\/p>\n

During the event, TDAP organized around 2,100 sectors specific B2B meetings of foreign buyers with local exhibitors in which extensive discussion was held in generating business and future collaboration.<\/p>\n

These sectors included Pharmaceutical, Surgical, Chemicals, Agricultural Machinery & Implements, Safety Equipment, Construction Material, Home Appliances, Furniture, Cosmetics, Handicrafts, Sports Goods, Cutlery & Cookware, Packaging, Automotive, Electric Machinery, Minerals, Marbles, Mobiles, and Musical Instruments.<\/p>\n
