Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The maritime contractor Royal Van Oord, which specialises in dredging and salvaging land from the sea and is operating in Area 1 of the Rovuma Basin, offered the Makobo platform 20 Bernina electric sewing machines, plus five spare motors, at the beginning of February.<\/p>\n

The equipment offered by the Dutch multinational will be used at the Makobo studio in Pemba, to support the training of more than 200 women displaced by the armed insurgency that has devastated the northern province of Cabo Delgado.<\/p>\n

The donation of humanitarian support to the Solidary Heart Mission which the Mozambican organisation has been developing in the provincial capital since 2020 forms part of Van Oord\u2019s social responsibility programme, which serves to promote self-reliance and encourage employment and income generation for both displaced people and host families.<\/p>\n

The Solidary Heart Mission has promoted various initiatives around inclusion and economic, social, cultural and environmental sustainability, aiming at the sustainable improvement of the living conditions for internally displaced people and host communities.<\/p>\n
