Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi today swore in the new prime minister, Adriano Maleiane, and other government members as part of the reshuffle he carried ou.<\/p>\n

The ceremony took place at 9:00 at the Presidency of the Republic in Maputo.<\/p>\n

The head of state on Thursday appointed former economy and finance minister Adriano Maleiane as the new prime minister, with the state\u2019s accounts being handled by Max Tonela \u2013 who in turn is leaving the ministry of mineral resources and energy to be led by Carlos Zacarias, until now president of the National Petroleum Institute (INP).<\/p>\n

Carlos Mesquita transits from industry and commerce to minister of public works, housing and water resources.<\/p>\n

Maleiane, Tonela and Mesquita have accompanied Nyusi since his first mandate (2015-2020).<\/p>\n

Also taking office today were Amilcar Tivane as deputy minister of Economy and Finance, Silvino Moreno as minister of Industry and Trade and L\u00eddia Cardoso as the new minister of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Nyusi dismissed six of his 18 ministers and on Thursday morning announced the dismissal of the prime minister, Carlos Agostinho do Ros\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n
