Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mozambican state recognises that it is still not doing enough in recognition of Mozambique\u2019s liberation struggle fighters and veterans.<\/p>\n

So said Secretary of State of Nampula Province Mety Gondola recently while visiting the Provincial Service of Combatants, where he noted that there is a need for greater effort to value what the veterans did.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fighters sacrificed their lives and all their youth to free this country from the colonial yoke, and for that they deserve all due recognition,\u201d Gondola said, recalling that the Mozambican state has been doing what it can to accommodate these living heroes.<\/p>\n

As a way of embodying this recognition, Mety Gondola delivered a new vehicle to the Provincial Service of Combatants, to facilitate the work of the institution, which has been clamouring for better transport capacity for a long time.<\/p>\n

In few words, the Director of the Provincial Service of Combatants in Nampula thanked him, joking that he was tired of riding in an old vehicle that was always in the garage for repairs.<\/p>\n

Mety Gondola also took time to visit some sick combatants, conveying a message of \u201cmission accomplished\u201d for all they have done for this country.<\/p>\n

He noted the need to provide medical and drug assistance to combatants, without losing sight of their descendants\u2019 welfare also.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must ensure opportunity for the descendants of combatants,\u201d Gondola said, explaining that some of our veterans embraced the struggle for the liberation of the country at the expense of educating their children.<\/p>\n
