Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Circulation in National Road Number One has been interrupted at he Nicoadala and Namacurra district sections of theEN1 since 1:00 pm on Saturday when rainwater washed away the soil that connects the road and the concrete structure of the platform.<\/p>\n

With rain continuing to fall in Zamb\u00e9zia, it is not yet known when the matter will be resolved.<\/p>\n

Judite Mussacula, the province\u2019s secretary of state, was detained in the north of the district on Saturday morning when she and the provincial emergency operating centre (CENOE) team ventured out to assess rain damage.<\/p>\n

The Namacurra river, located in the district of the same name, overflowed, restricting road traffic and the passage of pedestrians and goods on the N1 there.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State and the working group had to wait for a vessel in order to proceed.<\/p>\n

Measurements in the area indicated 172.5 mm of rain in the previous 24 hours \u2013 as much as normally falls in a month, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM).<\/p>\n
