Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique will this year sell 16.4 million tons of agricultural surpluses.<\/p>\n

Of this amount, 58% is produced in the north of the country, the provinces of Niassa and Cabo Delgado contributing around 4.7 million tons.<\/p>\n

The figures were cited in Cuamba this Saturday by President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, during the launch of the Special Zone for Agro-industrial Processing of the Pemba-Lichinga Integrated Development Corridor (ZEPA) project.<\/p>\n

Filipe Nyusi said that, in addition to generating income for small producers through the sale of surpluses, the project aimed to create an environment attractive to investment in agribusiness and processing.<\/p>\n

The ZEPA project has the financial support of the African Development Bank (AfDB).<\/p>\n
