Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Absa Bank Mozambique, as part of its citizenship strategy, has supported the Xiquitsi Project, an initiative that aims to develop culture through classical music, providing opportunities for children and teenagers in situations of social vulnerability.<\/p>\n

Through this initiative, the bank reinforces its commitment in promoting art, culture that is the DNA of its Africanicity and national talent, reinforcing the Social Responsibility component, allied to the impulse on Developing Education, one of the objectives of the United Nations Global Pact, of which the bank is a signatory.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis partnership reaffirms our commitment to Mozambican culture and support to young talent, and has also allowed a continued and consistent action in supporting the dissemination of music and decentralization of the realization of quality events,\u201d said T\u00e2nia Oliveira, Director of Customer Service.<\/p>\n

In addition to promoting Mozambican talent, launching it beyond borders, through scholarships, Xiquitsi provides training for students in stringed musical instruments, wind instruments, repercussion and voice.<\/p>\n

The concerts on March 24th and 25th were the first of this season and there was a great adherence from the public. The event was attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Edelvina Materula and members of the executive committee of Absa, Rui Barros and Pedro Carvalho.<\/p>\n

Other concerts are already planned throughout the year, which will take place in other Provinces of the country and are essentially aimed at presenting the result of the work done by the orchestra and putting the students to practice on stage.<\/p>\n
