Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) announced on Monday in a statement that it will allocate 1.6 million euros for projects in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

The amount will serve to \u201cboost gender equality, implement innovative solutions that contribute to environmental sustainability and reduce the digital gap in vocational education.\u201d<\/p>\n

The funding covers three AECID programmes.<\/p>\n

The ELLAS+ programme will fund the emancipation of women, prevent early marriages and sensitise men and young people to \u201cnew masculinities\u201d that are sensitive to gender balance, with \u20ac350,000 in conjunction with the ministry of gender, children and social action.<\/p>\n

In the field of education, the E-DUC@ project to be developed with the national authority for professional education (ANEP) will benefit from 300,000 euros to \u201cimprove the quality and innovation of the Mozambican public system of technical-vocational education\u201d, using information technology.<\/p>\n

There will also be 476,100 euros allocated to the FONTEC project, in partnership with the Maputo municipal council for the recovery and conservation of mangrove green spaces in the Costa do Sol neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

The total amount earmarked by Spanish cooperation for Mozambique this year also includes half a million euros under the Covid-19 health programme, in partnership with the ministry of health to strengthen essential health services affected by the pandemic.<\/p>\n
