{"id":18687,"date":"2022-04-29T16:21:59","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T16:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/jindal-coal-train-derails-on-sena-line-noticias"},"modified":"2022-04-29T16:31:41","modified_gmt":"2022-04-29T16:31:41","slug":"jindal-coal-train-derails-on-sena-line-noticias","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/mozambique\/all-news\/jindal-coal-train-derails-on-sena-line-noticias","title":{"rendered":"Jindal coal train derails on Sena line \u2013 Noticias"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A Jindal Africa coal train bound for the Port of Beira coming from Tete derailed on Wednesday night on the Sena line between Derunde and Semacueza in Muanza district, Sofala province.<\/p>\n<p>The incident, involving a composition consisting of two locomotives and 43 wagons, resulted in substantial physical damage to the railway.<\/p>\n<p>CFM-Centre railway director Boaventura confirmed the accident, acknowledging that traffic had been momentarily interrupted.<\/p>\n<p>A crane mobilised from Beira took more than five hours to remove the train, and rail traffic was reopened after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, when the Beira-Marromeu passenger train, which had been held up at Dondo railway station, was again able to make headway.<\/p>\n<p>A commission of inquiry to determine the cause of the accident has been constituted, but preliminary results indicate a probable deficiency in one of the wagons.<\/p>\n<p>Mahave noted that this is the second derailment on the Sena line this year.
