Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>More than 50,000 workers in different sectors were fired or suspended from their activities without just cause in Mozambique in 2021.<\/p>\n

Of this number, just over half lost their employment \u2013 mainly in the tourism sector \u2013 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

The figures were quoted on Saturday (30-04) by the secretary general of the OTM Central Union, Alexandre Munguambe, during a debate on Radio Mozambique\u2019s \u2018Linha Directa\u2019 programme<\/p>\n

The main celebrations of International Workers\u2019 Day, on Sunday, May 1st, took place in Xai-Xai, Gaza province, under the motto \u201cTrade unions in the fight against precarious work and high cost of living\u201d.<\/p>\n
