Africa-Press<\/a> – Mozambique<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Six individuals, including workers and traders, were detained in Maputo city on Saturday, accused of stealing goods from the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction Management (INGD).<\/p>\n

The arrest of the six suspects, who were allegedly diverting goods destined for aid recipients in the country, came thanks to tip-offs and investigation by the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM).<\/p>\n

According to the police, employees removed the goods from the institution\u2019s warehouse to a home, and from there distributed them for sale in stores in Polana-Cani\u00e7o and Maxaquene.<\/p>\n

One of the detainees said that he was forced into theft by routine delays in paying his wages in order to obtain money to buy food.<\/p>\n

The owner of the house where the goods were received said that she entered the scheme for financial gain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
