Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane announced on Thursday (05\/05) that the state would soon start to assist at least two million of those most in need in Mozambique \u2013 twice the number currently being assisted.<\/p>\n

Maleiane announced the development in the port city of Nacala, in the northern Mozambican province of Nampula, at the end of a visit to a local wheat flour processing factory.<\/p>\n

According to Prime Minister Maleiane, the measure aims to mitigate the impact of the rising cost of living on the families most in need. His announcement coincides with an increase in the price of bread in Nampula this Friday.<\/p>\n

Maleiane explained that the National Institute of Social Action (INAS) would launch an operation to identify those eligible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government has a very strong component of transfers to support vulnerable families, and it is not our objective to have that number rise,\u201d Maleiane said. \u201cThe program is being organised to at least mitigate [the situation]. The policy is to leave absolutely no one without support.\u201d<\/p>\n
