Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Provincial Migration Services in Sofala this week foiled an attempt to traffic six illegal immigrants to neighbouring South Africa via Beira International Airport.<\/p>\n

The individuals, travelling from Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, did not present any documentation, or know for sure what they were going to do in South Africa, saying only that they were looking for opportunities.<\/p>\n

Spokesperson for the provincial migration directorate in Sofala, Mangazi Nsinganu, says that given the situation, the police had no doubt that this was a trafficking case, and ordered the six to return to their country of origin.<\/p>\n

Nsingano did not rule out the possibility that these individuals could be involved with a network recruiting candidates for the ranks of terrorists in Cabo Delgado, and called for greater vigilance to prevent such cases.<\/p>\n

Last year, 40 illegal immigrants were repatriated to their respective countries via National Road Number Six (EN6).<\/p>\n
