Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Assembly of the Republic has rescheduled the closing of its fifth ordinary session, initially due to take place this Friday (13-05), to Friday of next week (20-05). The Standing Commission says the extension is the resulting of parliamentary agenda issues, since more time is needed to examine and debate the more than 25 items scheduled for the session.<\/p>\n

The decision was announced this Tuesday in a communiqu\u00e9 sent to O Pa\u00eds, which also indicated that the plenary session, which usually takes place on Wednesdays, will be moved to this Thursday.<\/p>\n

In today\u2019s session, the deputies are to consider the proposal for the revision of Law n\u00ba 14\/2013 of 12 August, concerning the Prevention and Combat of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, in general, and the resolution concerning the Election of the Member of the National Election Commission, in general and in particular.<\/p>\n

Activities in this 5th ordinary session of the Assembly of the Republic, referring to the 9th legislature, began on 28 February with 25 agenda items on the table, but with the possibility of that number increasing.<\/p>\n

Choosing the elected judges of the Judicial Courts, answering questions to the government, the Law of Local Authorities, the appreciation of the Law creating the Maritime Courts, the revision of the Sports Law and many other matters have already seen parliamentary evaluation.<\/p>\n

One highlight of this parliamentary session is consideration of the new Media and Broadcasting Laws, both brought over from the previous parliamentary session.<\/p>\n
