Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Mafambisse sugar factory in Dondo district, Sofala province, this year recorded a fall in production of more than 300 tons compared to the previous season.<\/p>\n

The firm expects to produce around 37,800 tons of sugar in the current season, against more than 38,200 tons from the previous harvest.<\/p>\n

The pandemic crisis, with its associated devastation of agricultural fields, plus some problems related to equipment, are indicated as having contributed to the decline.<\/p>\n

The information was shared on Wednesday by Albertina Lubrino, director for socio-economic development and local affairs at the Mafambisse sugar factory, during a visit by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Silvino Moreno.<\/p>\n

In reply, Minister Moreno encouraged the factory\u2019s managers to increase production levels despite the adversities.<\/p>\n
