Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The governments of Mozambique and Ghana signed an agreement in Accra on Monday to waive diplomatic and service visas as part of closer friendly relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The agreements were initialled as part of the state visit that Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi is making to Ghana.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the agreements, Nyusi stressed the importance of intensifying economic cooperation between the two African countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfricans are becoming aware that they need to cooperate with each other. That is why these borders are being removed to do that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican head of state pointed to Ghana as an example of an economy open to the world through the strength of its exports, mainly cocoa, minerals and oil, advocating the exchange of experiences with other African countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the things we will do is collect Ghanaian experience of export crops,\u201d the Mozambican head of state said.<\/p>\n

The two countries, he said, could also exchange knowledge in the mining sector, particularly in terms of the participation of local businesspeople in taking advantage of opportunities generated by the exploration of natural resources.<\/p>\n

The president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Adoo, advocated the industrialisation of African countries to boost exports from the continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must galvanise industry so that we can produce,\u201d Akufo-Adoo said.<\/p>\n
