Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The World Bank today began the process of public consultations with a view to adopting a new Country Partnership Framework with Mozambique for the period 2023 to 2027.<\/p>\n

The objective is to define a consensual program that reflects the strategic vision of all social segments.<\/p>\n

In the session, the World Bank heard representatives of civil society, academia and unions, who highlighted as priorities, among others, the strengthening of the health, education and women\u2019s empowerment sectors.<\/p>\n

The new program could total US$4 billion in finance for development programmes which focus on poverty reduction and job creation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe amount may still rise, depending on the resources that can be made available by the International Development Association (IDA),\u201d said Paulo Correa, the World Bank\u2019s Program Leader for Mozambique.<\/p>\n

Correa however who pointed out that 75% of the approximately US$4 billion previously made available for development projects by the World Bank had not yet been used.<\/p>\n
