Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique (CTA) met with Her Excellency the Minister of the Interior within the scope of follow-up actions as a result of concerns presented at the Annual Private Sector Conference (CASP) that took place on March 30 and April 1 of this year. In addition to the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Industry and Commerce and the Deputy Minister of Tourism were present.<\/p>\n

The meeting aimed, essentially, to make known to the CTA the result of the work of the multi-sectoral team created with the various ministers under the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior with the objective of defining measures to be adopted in the granting of visas and DIREs (residence permits) to foreign investors, as well as increasingly facilitating the hiring of foreign labour with a view to promoting greater attraction for investments and making the country a reference tourist destination.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, the Government highlighted the need to change the following instruments:<\/p>\n

Some specific issues intended to be changed were also highlighted, namely:<\/p>\n

The Government also intends to carry out reforms with a view to institutional improvement, with the emphasis on the online processing of procedures and on information sharing for the harmonisation of procedures with diplomatic missions.<\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that, with a view to obtaining feedback from the private sector, CTA requested a period of 15 days from the 30th of May of the current year, to submit its opinion.<\/p>\n

Therefore, with a view to making more relevant the document that will be prepared, the CTA asks that those interested send their concerns regarding the matters under consideration no later than the 10th of June to the email addresses cpinto@cta.org.mz, copied to cta@cta.org.mz.<\/p>\n
