Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Prince Charles has expressed his \u201cpersonal sorrow\u201d at the suffering caused by slavery.<\/p>\n

At the official opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Rwanda\u2019s capital, Kigali, the future king said it is a conversation whose time has come.<\/p>\n

He said he was continuing to “deepen my own understanding of slavery’s enduring impact”.<\/p>\n

The prince told the gathering that he could not “describe the depths of my personal sorrow at the suffering of so many” during slavery.<\/p>\n

Speaking in the same meeting, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said his country supports the United Nations’ plan to get food out of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Mr Johnson said the global food crisis had been deliberately engineered by Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n

\u201cNearly 25 million tonnes of grains are piled up in silos in Ukraine,\u201d he said, \u201cheld hostage by Russia.\u201d<\/p>\n

He told the leaders of the 54 Commonwealth members he wanted to work with them to understand their needs and priorities and deliver solutions.<\/p>\n
