Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A head-on collision between two trains at Matola-Gare injured nine people, Ports and Railways of Mozambique has announced in a statement.<\/p>\n

All the injured are out of danger, except for one passenger who is still receiving medical care.<\/p>\n

Preliminary data indicate that the accident resulted from the failure of the positioning of the needle rails or switches. A needle diversion or switch is a railroad device that allows trains to switch from one track to another one. The switching needles are the track\u2019s structure used to divert the trains\u2019 wheels from a track to another one.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the CFM say that a commission has already been created to investigate the causes of the accident.<\/p>\n

Regarding the circulation of trains, CFM says it has been re-established.<\/p>\n
