Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s national Tang Soo Do team recently participated in the world championship in the United States of America, from where the 11 athletes representing the country brought home 20 medals \u2013 14 gold, two silver and four bronze.<\/p>\n

Henriques Gouveris won three gold medals and the World Champion of Colour Belts title.<\/p>\n

F\u00e1bio Afonso and B\u00e1rbara Abrantes also won three medals, two gold, in the category of forms, and one of bronze, in combat.<\/p>\n

Eric Fonseca won two gold medals and one silver.<\/p>\n

Momola Francisco won two gold medals, both in forms, while Mariana Alves won gold in the forms and bronze in combat.<\/p>\n

Other athletes who won gold medals were Marcos Pereira and Michael Lee, in the combats, and Zara Lemos, in the forms, while Naira Lemos won a bronze medal in the forms.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican team also saw Alcino Muchate and Etevaldo Boca promoted to black belt 4th Dan level.<\/p>\n

In addition to the athletes\u2019 achievements, five Mozambican international referees were certified: Cl\u00e1udio Tempor\u00e1rio and Isaura Muthombene as Masters, and Benson Goule, Alcino Muchate and Michael Lee at SBN level.<\/p>\n

Five athletes to represent Mozambique in African Taekwondo Championships<\/b><\/p>\n

Frederico Muianga, Issufo Libra, Omar Jos\u00e9, Eduardo Mabasso and Stef\u00e2nia Ucucho, will participate in the African Taekwondo Championship in Kigali, Rwanda, from the 13th to the 17th of July.<\/p>\n

Tunisian master Trabelsi Seifeddine recently visited Maputo to train the athletes for the African Taekwondo championships Seniors category, and to prepare athletes to compete in the Juniors Zone VI games in Malawi.<\/p>\n

For the Mozambican Taekwondo Federation, the visit was beneficial for the athletes, who learned techniques vital to a good performance in the competitions ahead.<\/p>\n

After the African games, the World Cup in Bulgaria follows.<\/p>\n
