Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Road traffic volumes on the EN4 road connecting Mozambique and South Africa across the Ressano Garcia border post have been back to normal since yesterday, after days of strikes prompted by rising fuel prices.<\/p>\n

Ernesto M\u00e1quina, head of the Ressano Garcia post, confirmed the outlines of the situation, and said that people could now enter Mozambique and leave for South Africa normally.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a complicated situation, because we had trucks that could not cross the border due to the strike, but now the situation is returning to normal now. I think an understanding was reached between the Government and the strikers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For his part, Sudekar Novela, the president of the Mozambican Association of Informal Importers of Miscellaneous Products (better known as \u201cmukheristas), said that the strike had compromised supply to the Mozambican market.<\/p>\n
