Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A plane from the carrier Linhas A\u00e9reas de Mo\u00e7ambique (LAM) was forced to abort a landing at Maputo International Airport, in the south of the country, due to bad weather, but succeeded in landing in Chimoio, in the centre of the country, the company announced.<\/p>\n

In a statement, LAM said that, after failing to land in Maputo, the aircraft should have landed at Beira International Airport, also in the centre of the country, but the operation was not possible because the city was also experiencing bad weather.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn view of these meteorological adversities, the crew decided on another alternative, in this case, Chimoio Airport, where the landing took place successfully and safely,\u201d the note says.<\/p>\n

LAM says that passengers and crew are doing well and receiving indications in accordance with the procedures for such situations.<\/p>\n

Parallel to this, the statement continues, arrangements are being made for the flight from Chimoio to Maputo, the operation to take place as soon as the aircraft has refuelled.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to local limitations, the fuel in question is being transported from the city of Beira,\u201d the note reads.<\/p>\n

LAM also mentions that, as a result of the setback, while the Boeing remains in Chimoio, some of the company\u2019s flights are being rescheduled.<\/p>\n
