Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) yesterday backed the promotion of a favourable business climate in the country through the removing of barriers to business activity, with a view to boosting social and economic development.<\/p>\n

ANJE made known its position on the Mozambique business climate during the launch of the 9th National Entrepreneurship Conference, taking place in Maputo under the motto \u201cThe Future We Want\u201d.<\/p>\n

ANJE deputy president, Mara Cancune, identified the impact of the Covid pandemic, natural disasters, war in Cabo Delgado province, northern Mozambique, and kidnappings of businesspeople and family members as obstacles undermining the business environment in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe need to change this scenario is urgent,\u201d Cancune said.<\/p>\n

The business leader also advocated the need for strategies to encourage the greater involvement of young people in the country\u2019s social and economic development initiatives.<\/p>\n

Conditions, she continued, must be created for young people to capitalise on opportunities in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, hydrocarbons and tourism with a view to building robust youth entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Trade, services, transport and technologies were other areas open to aspiring entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

Cancune advocated the creation of financial products and services suitable to support these goals, as a necessary intervention for the emergence of a young business class.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe intend to ensure the dissemination of business opportunities, training and financing for young entrepreneurs, and to debate strategies for the development of entrepreneurship programs, as well as political aspects to improve the national entrepreneurial ecosystem,\u201d Cancune stressed.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, she said, conditions must be created for the internationalisation of companies and products generated by young entrepreneurs in order to secure for Mozambique the added value resulting from exports.<\/p>\n
