Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambican boxer Tiago Muxanga on Thursday guaranteed a third bronze medal for Mozambique at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Fighting in the light middleweight (67\/71 kg) division, Muchanga won his quarter-final match against Wendell Stanley, from New Zealand, and moved through to the semi-finals, where he will face Kassim Mbundwike, of Tanzania, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Yesterday\u2019s win automatically guarantees Muchanga bronze \u2013 all boxing semi-finalists are awarded medals.<\/p>\n

In a tough and balanced match, the Mozambican showed all his talent and potential in the ring, winning by a tight 3-2 score.<\/p>\n

The other two bronze medals for Mozambique were secured by boxers Rady Gramane and Alcinda Panguana, who will compete again tomorrow, Saturday, this time for the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

Regardless of the results in the next round, Mozambique will beat, in this edition of the Commonwealth Games, the record of medals won in a single edition.<\/p>\n

All other Mozambican athletes in action yesterday \u2013 Alex Macu\u00e1cua and Ancha Mandlate in athletics and Armando Siga\u00faque in boxing \u2013 were defeated and therefore eliminated from their respective competitions.<\/p>\n
