Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Virg\u00edlia Bernarda Neto Alexandre dos Santos Matabele died in a health unit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday, after a prolonged illness.<\/p>\n

Born in Mocuba, Zambezia province, on August 14, 1952, Virgilia Matabele served as Minister of Women and Coordination of Social Action from 2000 to 2009.<\/p>\n

From 1985 to 1991, she was head of the department of training and international coordination at the Secretariat of State for Tourism.<\/p>\n

Virigilia Matabele was also head of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Commerce from 1991 to 1994, the year she was elected a Frelimo deputy.<\/p>\n

She served as a Member of Parliament, as a member of the Commission on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights and Legality and as Deputy Chair of the National Institute of Tourism (INATUR).<\/p>\n

She was a member of the Central Committee of the Frelimo Party since the VII Congress, in 1997.<\/p>\n

She was also non-executive administrator at Mcel.<\/p>\n
