Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>More than 4,000 families in Chigubo district, northern Gaza province, urgently need food support to fight off the hunger threatening communities in the region.<\/p>\n

Irregular rainfall is indicated as the main cause of the failure of the current agricultural season, now about to end.<\/p>\n

Chigubo district administrator Hermenegildo Infante explained that, to alleviate the hunger affecting these families, rice provided by the World Food Program (WFP) is currently being distributed.<\/p>\n

The district administrator said that the drought had cost Chigubo district more than half the current campaign\u2019s anticipated production of about 10,000 tons of various crops.<\/p>\n
