Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The African Union (AU) and East African Community (EAC) have congratulated Kenya\u2019s fifth phase President Dr William for being endorsed by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by the EAC Secretary General; Peter Mathuki on Tuesday stated that the community was looking forward to Mr Ruto\u2019s leadership in advancing the EAC integration.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe congratulate the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto and look forward to his leadership in advancing the EAC integration agenda,\u201d Mr Mathuki said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Additionally, he congratulated the Republic of Kenya for holding a peaceful General election and upholding the rule of law.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the African Union (AU) also congratulated Mr Ruto upon his election as the President-elect following the successful conduct of General Elections on the 9th August 2022 and the unanimous judicial confirmation of the election outcome.<\/p>\n

Kenya\u2019s Supreme Court unanimously affirmed William Ruto\u2019s declaration as the victor of the country\u2019s presidential elections, rejecting opposition candidate Raila Odinga\u2019s assertions that the electoral process was tainted by rigging.<\/p>\n

The President-elect who awaits to be sworn in on September 13, 2022 so as to fully take possession of his new office thanked Kenyans and promised not to let them down.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I committed to the people of Kenya, I do not believe in the handshake stories, I believe in an accountable government held to account by a responsible opposition, that\u2019s how Kenya is going to move forward,\u201d President-elect Ruto said when delivering his speech on Monday.<\/p>\n
