Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Visiting the UK High Commission in Maputo on Friday to sign the book of condolences, President Nyusi said that cooperation between Mozambique and the United Kingdom would remain strong despite the death of Queen Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n

The head of state, accompanied by his wife, was received by the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom and inscribed a signed message of condolences on the death of the monarch.<\/p>\n

He also left some words of comfort, highlighting the fact that Queen Elizabeth II was always concerned to maintain good bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

Responding to press inquiries, Nyusi said he had no doubt that the new King of England would continue to favour good Mozambican-United Kingdom relations.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the embassies of Malawi, Brazil and Germany also visited the UK high commission on Friday to sign the book of condolences.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican state decreed three days of national mourning, starting last Saturday, while the UK High Commission had scheduled a number of activities for Sunday.<\/p>\n

The monarch\u2019s funeral takes place in London on Monday.<\/p>\n
