Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Meta has confirmed that it is developing a feature that will allow users to block nude photos in Instagram messages as well as other unwanted messages.<\/p>\n

This feature is still under development, Meta said.<\/p>\n

The technology will not allow the organisation to view the actual messages nor share them with third parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re working closely with experts to ensure these new features preserve people\u2019s privacy, while giving them control over the messages they receive,\u201d Meta spokesperson Liz Fernandez said.<\/p>\n

This move comes in after a report published this year by the Center for Countering Digital Hate found that many women were sent sexual images by men.<\/p>\n

The Pew Research Center published a report that found 33 percent of women under 35 had been sexually harassed online.<\/p>\n

The company stressed that user privacy is protected, and promised to share more details in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
