Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>One person died and two others were injured in Gorongosa district, Sofala province, this Tuesday, when a fuel tanker they were working on exploded.<\/p>\n

The incident took place as the vehicle\u2019s tank was being welded in preparation for it returning to service.<\/p>\n

The tank was reportedly empty, but witness speculate that droplets of fuel released during the welding work caused the explosion.<\/p>\n

After initial treatment for severe burns at the District Health Centre in Gorongosa, the two survivors were evacuated to Chimoio Provincial Hospital in Manica province.<\/p>\n

Manuel In\u00e1cio, the clinical director there, said that the two patients were in intensive care.<\/p>\n
