Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A scheme apparently elaborated to the smallest detail resulted in the theft of 14 million meticais from a bank branch in Macanga district,Tete province.<\/p>\n

Police indicate that six people participated in the scheme, four of whom have already been arrested.<\/p>\n

The defendants allegedly used the money to go on a shopping spree.<\/p>\n

They bought cars, houses, plots of land and electrical appliances over a short period of time, such that the police only managed to recover only one million meticais of the 14 million stolen, \u2018Miramar\u2019 has learned.<\/p>\n

Of the six people allegedly involved, the highlight goes to the manager and accountant, who also saw the goods they allegedly bought with the stolen money seized.<\/p>\n

Work continues to identify and arrest the last two suspects, who may also currently be making purchases with the bank\u2019s money.<\/p>\n
