Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>A total of 5,750 young people from the three southern provinces of Mozambique will benefit from training and capacity building scholarships in various technical-vocational courses, under the \u201cACREDITA EMPREGA\u201d programme.<\/p>\n

This is a government initiative, budgeted at 75 million US dollars financed by the World Bank.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to provide young people with adequate tools to run their own business and employ others, towards sustainable development of the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking this Thursday in Maputo during the opening ceremony of the training and presentation of scholarship holders, Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi, announced that training will be provided by 10 educational institutions for selected candidates.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to urge the youth to seize the opportunities offered by government, by turning problems into sources of inspiration to generate income, through innovative, creative and useful solutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He assured that, as a government, he will continue to promote actions that compete in practical, objective and concrete ways to create and generate more opportunities for youths, being the youths themselves the main driving actors of this productive process.<\/p>\n

Nyusi also assured that his government will continue to seek solutions to resolve youth unemployment problem.<\/p>\n

He urged young people to commit themselves, with dedication and responsibility, to training because, in his view, this is their opportunity to give their contribution to solve a number of problems afflicting the country.<\/p>\n

Nyusi also called training institutions to assist trainees, providing them with enough tools so that they can be useful and competitive on the job market.<\/p>\n

He announced that three more technical-vocational training centres are expected to start operating later this year.<\/p>\n

These are the centres of Inhassoro, in Inhambane province; of Morrumbala, in Zambezia, and Gorongosa, in Sofala.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are centres built by the government to respond to the various concerns of young people, particularly training, employment and housing opportunities, as well as tools for entrepreneurship,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
