Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The geological mapping project in the Lu\u0301rio Belt in Nampula and Niassa provinces has registered the potential for the occurrence of several mineral resources, including orogenic gold.<\/p>\n

This basic information will guide investors in the mining sector in Mozambique in their consideration of any initiative related to the exploitation of different types of ores that occur in the region, including precious and semi-precious stones.<\/p>\n

The mapping, which started in 2019, is the first step in the production of preliminary geological sheets of an area of unknown potential, as a prelude to more detailed studies to determine the size of deposits identified.<\/p>\n

AIM reports that the results were released in Maputo on Thursday by the international consortium of mining geological consultancy that carried out the mapping, led by the company Christoph Dobmeier, during the workshop to disseminate the results of the geodata component in the gas and mining sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the mapping done, there are mineralization foci which can be developed in an organised way. I\u2019m not talking about illegal artisanal mining, I\u2019m talking about small-scale, technically oriented activity. Unfortunately, of the 25 sheets which had to be produced, we only managed to get 10,\u201d the consultant said.<\/p>\n
