Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambique\u2019s Minister of Transport and Communications Mateus Magala said yesterday that businesspeople from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have \u201ca huge interest in investing in various fields\u201d in Mozambique, leveraging on the vast financial resources available to them.<\/p>\n

Mateus Magala was speaking to journalists in Abu Dhabi on the sidelines of a four-day visit that Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has been making there since Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBusinessmen from the United Arab Emirates have a huge interest in investing in various fields in Mozambique, because they have a large surplus,\u201d in terms of liquidity, Magala said.<\/p>\n

Infrastructure such as ports and airports could potentially attract investment by UAE entrepreneurs, he continued.<\/p>\n

Minister Magala said that UAE businessmen trust the macroeconomic policies being implemented by the country\u2019s authorities and are happy with the prevailing business environment.<\/p>\n

As part of Filipe Nyusi\u2019s visit, Mozambique and the UAE will sign a set of memoranda to strengthen bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Mozambican head of state yesterday also held talks with his counterpart, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n
