Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Medical Association of Mozambique has postponed the national strike scheduled for this Monday to December 5, the organization announced in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The decision was taken after a national meeting of the association, considering that \u201cthe Government started to adopt a posture of greater openness to dialogue\u201d to resolve claims related to the new Single Salary Table (TSU) of the civil service.<\/p>\n

The association opted for \u201crescheduling the start date of the 3rd national strike to December 5, 2022, if the Government does not resolve the issues raised in the medical profession\u2019s claim book\u201d, reads yesterday\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

Negotiations will continue, the statement added.<\/p>\n

Under the threat of a strike, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela, joined the Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, on Friday and Saturday in negotiations with the doctors.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Tonela\u2019s office released a draft on the negotiations, in which of the 14 points under discussion, four remained without agreement on the maintenance of subsidies (among them the 40% exclusivity subsidy) and the calculating of overtime and seniority.<\/p>\n

On another point, the Government acknowledged that in October there were cases of salary reductions with the entry into force of the TSU, but guaranteed \u201cthe necessary corrections\u201d during November, so that \u201cno employee or agent of the State\u201d has \u201ctheir salary reduced\u201d. because of the new table.<\/p>\n
