Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, arrived this Sunday evening in the city of Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, where he is attending the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties COP27).<\/p>\n

The meeting, which brings together more than 197 leaders, non-governmental organizations and civil society, aims to discuss mechanisms to reduce the impact of climate change, ensure infrastructure resilience, energy transition, adaptation, food and water security. .<\/p>\n

During the summit, Nyusi will participate in side events, with a focus on the high-level panel on \u2018Loss, Damage and Disaster Risk Reduction in Africa\u2019, organized by Mozambique, as African Champion on Disaster Risk Reduction.<\/p>\n

At the conference, the President will convey the country\u2019s commitment to mitigating the effect of extreme weather phenomena, as well as to implementing the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n

This Monday, the Head of State will hold meetings with representatives of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and International Finance Corporation (IFC).<\/p>\n

President Nyusi is accompanied by the ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Celso Correia; Land and Environment, Ivete Maibasse; Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala; deputy ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonc\u0327alves; Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Ceci\u0301lia Chamutota; Economy and Finance, Ami\u0301lcar Tivane; and the Mozambican ambassador to Egypt, Filipe Chidumo.<\/p>\n
