Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The almost total stoppage of commercial and business activity in Nacala, particularly in its port, continues, despite the original injunction having been revoked on November 1st by Judge Mohamed Khaled Mohamed Iqbal Varinda, of the commercial section of the Judicial Court of Nampula Province, MediaFax reports.<\/p>\n

It is a war between two large groups for the control and dominance of the commercialisation and export activity of agricultural products through the port of Nacala which is paralysing the city of Nacala Porto and generating concerns about price distortion in the region.<\/p>\n

The situation has already led the Nampula Provincial Government to appeal to the parties to seek an understanding in relation to the issue that has put them on the path of confrontation.<\/p>\n

As far as mediaFAX has learned, the Royal Group, owned by Hassnein Raza Mamadataki, the entity which initiated the process of preventive seizure of the assets of the AM, ETG, Afrisian and Patel business groups, has not yet been located for notification of the court order lifting the injunction freezing the assets of the four groups.<\/p>\n

MediaFAX spoke to sources in Nacala Porto on Sunday, who indicated that the situation remained unchanged. In other words, the warehouses are still locked and the ships that were supposed to be loaded remain idle.<\/p>\n

As far as is known, the plaintiff, the Royal Group, was placed as a trustee [of the assets covered by freezing injunction, meanwhile lifted by the court on November 1st].<\/p>\n

The bank accounts of the respondents were also frozen, putting the four groups in a very difficult situation in terms of day-to-day management.<\/p>\n
