Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Morocco National team have become the first African Country to make it through to the World Cup\u2019s semi-finals. The Lions of Atlas sailed through to the stage, thanks to Y. En-Nesyri\u2019s first half goal against Portugal.<\/p>\n

Approximately 36 years ago, Morocco made history by becoming the first African country to qualify for the round of 16 at the World Cup 1986 in Mexico.<\/p>\n

Other African countries made it into quarter finals in the #World Cup tournaments but failed to progress into semis are Cameroon in 1990, Senegal in 2002, and Ghana in 2010.<\/p>\n

The winners were forced to play with only 10 players after Walid Cheddira booked a second yellow card in the injury time. Cristiano Ronaldo was fielded in the second half to turn things around but missed golden opportunities to upset African side.<\/p>\n
