Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The Ressano Garcia border crossing between Mozambique and South Africa could register peak movement of national and foreign citizens from the 22nd of December, on the occasion of the festive season.<\/p>\n

More than 80,000 travellers are expected to enter the country on the 22nd and 23rd of this month to celebrate Christmas and New Year.<\/p>\n

To face the peak of border movement, the immigration authorities in neighbouring South Africa on Wednesday (15-12) reactivated their Kilometre Seven service point.<\/p>\n

The reactivation of this post is the result of an agreement between the Mozambican and South African migration authorities, spokesman for the sector in Maputo province, Juca Bata, explained.<\/p>\n

Speaking this Wednesday on Radio Mozambique\u2019s Cafe\u0301 da Manha\u0303 programme, Bata underlined that \u201cthis year, the migratory movement will grow throughout the country, compared to the last two years, when there was an intense Covid-19 pandemic\u201d.<\/p>\n
