Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Tete province exported 956.5 tons of fish in 2022, 442.3 tons the result of artisanal fishing and 514.2 tons from aquaculture, surpassing the year\u2019s initial target of 930 tons.<\/p>\n

South Africa, Zambia, Congo, Malawi and Zimbabwe were among the destinations for exported fishery products, Tete Provincial Director of Agriculture and Fisheries Odette Naftal announced in her annual report on sector activity.<\/p>\n

She pointed out that artisanal fishing had landed a total catch of 17,874 tons, while aquaculture production was 1,253.3 tons, representing growth of over 40% in both subsectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe results obtained in aquaculture are, to a large extent, the result of the activities of populating fish ponds and cages across all districts, as well as the delivery of feed for fingerlings,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n

Inspection of 11,600 items of fishing gears in the fishing centres of Cahora Bassa, Ma\u0301goe\u0300, Mara\u0301via, Zumbu and Mutarara districts had resulted in the authorities destroying 3,752 items as harmful to the reproduction of piscine and other species, she added.<\/p>\n

Novecentas e cinquenta e seis toneladas e meia de pescado foram exportadas, este ano, das quais 442,3 resultantes da pesca artesanal e 514,2 de aquacultura, superando a meta inicialmente prevista de 930 toneladas.<\/p>\n

A\u0301frica do Sul, Za\u0302mbia, Congo, Malawi e Zimbabwe foram os pontos de chegada dos produtos pesqueiros exportados, tal como fez saber a directora provincial de Agricultura e Pescas, Odette Naftal, aquando da apresentac\u0327a\u0303o do balanc\u0327o anual das actividades do sector.<\/p>\n

Apontou que ao ni\u0301vel da pesca artesanal foram capturadas 17.874 toneladas, enquanto na aquacultura houve uma produc\u0327a\u0303o situada em 1253,3 toneladas, representando um crescimento acima dos 40 por cento nos dois subsectores.<\/p>\n

\u201cOs resultados obtidos na aquacultura sa\u0303o, em grande medida, fruto das actividades de povoamento de tanques pisci\u0301colas e gaiolas, um pouco por todos os distritos, bem como da entrega de rac\u0327a\u0303o para alimentar os alevinos\u201d, realc\u0327ou.<\/p>\n

Revelou que da inspecc\u0327a\u0303o feita a mais de 11.600 artes, nos centros de pesca dos distritos de Cahora Bassa, Ma\u0301goe\u0300, Mara\u0301via, Zumbu e Mutarara, as autoridades decidiram destruir 3752 por serem nocivas a\u0300 reproduc\u0327a\u0303o das espe\u0301cies.<\/p>\n
