Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>Manchester United and Newcastle United advanced to the English League Cup (Carabao Cup) semifinals Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Man Utd beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 in the quarterfinals as Antony scored the opener in the 21st minute at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

English forward Marcus Rashford added two late goals for Manchester United to make the result 3-0 for the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Manchester United, who have not secured a major trophy since 2017, were into the semifinal stage.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the other quarterfinal match, Newcastle United beat Leicester City 2-0 at St James’ Park with second-half goals scored by Dan Burn and Joelinton.<\/p>\n

Now backed by Saudi owners, Newcastle United have not won a domestic trophy for 68 years.<\/p>\n

The Magpies won the 1955 FA Cup, which is still their last domestic success.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Nottingham Forest will face Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Manchester City will visit Southampton in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.<\/p>\n
