Africa-Press – Mozambique. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial commander of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in Tete, Ania Jagaje, on Tuesday publicly praised a trainee police officer who denounced an agent who repeatedly stole goods from the Hotel Mabassa, which he had been assigned to guard.<\/p>\n

The praise came in the city of Tete, after the symbolic patenting ceremony of around 300 members of the PRM, promoted to different categories.<\/p>\n

Jagaje explained that the hotel was in litigation over alleged involvement in the \u201chidden debts\u201d case, and the whistle-blower uncovered the thefts when he realized that the marks on the walls were made by police shoes, and alerted the commander of the fourth squadron.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur former colleague stole about 20 plasma TVs over a period of time, but he was caught in the end. We must distance ourselves from this type of behaviour. We may think that we can steal as many times as we want, but there is always a day when our luck will run out,\u201d Jagaje warned.<\/p>\n

The Tete province police commander acknowledged to reporters the necessity of intensifying efforts to purge the ranks, and swore that anyone acting in ways which failed to dignify the PRM would be removed from the corporation.<\/p>\n
